All Saints Lutheran Church- Calgary

On the weekend of February 14th our church family and community will embark on what I believe will be the most significant period of personal spiritual growth in our 28-year history: 40 Days of Purpose. This will be the MOST significant emphasis we've ever done at All Saints for 2 reasons. First, we have invited all of you and asked you to invite others and will be asking all of South East/West Calgary to join us in this 40-day personal growth emphasis. This means, we will be participating in all four parts of the emphasis– the weekend messages, the small group video studies, the daily inspirational readings, and the Scripture memory verses...ALL TOGETHER~ Secondly, we  want everyone to know God's 5 purposes for their lives. Right now, we don't know a subject more important than answering the question “What On Earth Am I here for?” So, for the past 3 months, our leadership team has spent countless meaningful hours on discerning and engaging the materials that will take you to a deeper level of spiritual growth and maturity.

Here's a sneak preview: Rick Warren wrote the book, The Purpose Driven Life. It is a summary of everything he knows about the Christian life after walking with the Lord for over 40 years. It is composed of 40 short chapters that we will read together daily during 40 Days of Purpose. Other churches have already ordered about a half million copies of this for their members to read, but the leadership team at All Saints are going to personally give a free copy for everyone at All Saints who participates as a way of saying thanks and giving you the encouragement you need to begin asking “What on Earth am I Here For!”

Please mark Sunday February 14 on your calendar and come to this outreach event that we have put together to honor YOU! All are welcome to come and participate and see if this is a journey you would like to begin! There are 3 ways you can participate with us…

1.We have small groups who already meet in our church who have said “YES” to this program and have room for you to join them.

2. We have members in our congregation who have been in small groups that meet in peoples homes that have said ”YES” to hosting a 6 week book study in their home.

3. Do you have a DVD player and a home that will sit 6 others? Then we encourage you and welcome you to meet our leadership team this week to say YES to host a study in your home for 6 weeks! You don’t need to be a teacher, nor even have your Masters in theology to do this…just a home and a DVD player…YES! It’s this easy to bring the Word of the Lord to others!

There will be many opportunities throughout the week, but please, set just 1/12 hours a week plus Sunday morning worship aside so that together, we can discover “What on earth am I here for.”
